Health and Sanitation Branch
The Health and Sanitation Department is responsible for sanitation facilities, solid waste management and other public health duties. The major function includes cleaning and collection of waste on roads and drains, supervise the activities of door to door waste collection and its transportation to the landfill site, Cleaning of public latrines and urinals, action for restricting the spreading of epidemic disease, Disposal of dead animal/ unknown dead body, Restriction and prohibitive sale of adulterations, Prevention cruelty to animals and Regulation of slaughter houses/meat market and eatable things in the city.
The branch of the Corporation has manpower of 129 regular employee, 168 people for sweeping and 78 people for lifting which are deployed through outsourcing is engaged for cleaning of the city. We are having 10 tractor trolleys, 1 dumper, 2 auto tippers, 3 portable fogging machines, 2 mountable fogging machines, 1 JCB which are used for cleaning of city. The Municipal Solid waste is transported and disposed off at the landfill site situated at Mushtrapur village which is 26 km away from city. The proposal for buying 35 container, 350 dustbin and 6 trolleys is also in the pipe line.
